Carra "Libby" Camby

Carra “Libby” Bridges Camby, 88, of Fairview, went to her Heavenly home Monday, September 18, 2023, at her residence.

Mrs. Camby was born in Jacksonville, Georgia to the late Claude Newton Bridges and Mary Lee Walker Bridges. She was also preceded in death by her husband who passed away in June, Calvin Alfred Camby; a sister, Ann Bright and two brothers, Nelson Bridges, Sr. and Tommy Bridges.

Libby retired from the Buncombe County School system after 42 years of service working at Reynolds High School, Fairview Elementary School and Cane Creek Middle School. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Fairview. She was loved by all and her family was her world especially her great grandson, Korbin.

She is survived by a son, Douglas Camby and his wife Tammy; a granddaughter, Holly Styles and her husband Josh; one great-grandson, Korbin Styles; a sister, Claudette Hall, of Kentucky, and a number of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, September 22, 2023 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Fairview with Pastors Robert Ponder and Joe Harding officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service, from 2 to 3:00 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Josh Styles, Kevin Parries, Travis Earley, Brian Ponder, Clay Martin, and Tony Martin. Korbin Styles will serve as honorary pallbearer.

The family would like to thank Four Seasons Hospice and Chad Olson with Palliative Care for his great care of Miss Libby these last few weeks.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Carolina Village Employee Appreciation Fund, 600 Carolina Village Rd., Hendersonville, NC 28792.
