Mills River~ Carrie Heavner Wehunt, 79, died Monday, June 7, 2010 at Pardee Hospital in Hendersonville, N.C. A lifelong resident of Lincoln County, she recently moved to Henderson County and was daughter of the late Ralph and Lozie Brady Heavner. She was a Brownie Troop leader for 10 years and was a long-time member of McKendree United Methodist Church in Lincolnton. Carrie was a retired hairdresser. Surviving is her husband, William (Bill) Wehunt; two daughters, Karen Nantz and her husband, David of Mills River, Kim Armstrong and her husband, Danny of Miami, Florida; one sister, Linda Heavner Patrick of Lincolnton, a brother, Wayne Heavner of Lincolnton; three grandchildren, Matthew and Timothy Armstrong and Harley Nantz. Services for Mrs. Wehunt will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 10. 2010 at Arden First Baptist Church with the Reverend Jeffrey Hudson officiating. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 p.m. at McKendree United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Arden First Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to McKendree United Methodist Church 3537 Maiden Highway Lincolnton, N.C. 28092 or to the National Parkinson's Foundation Gift Processing Center P.O. Box 5018 Hagerstown, Maryland 21741-5018. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
