A native of Rutherford Co., NC, Mrs. Kanupp was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Melton. She was the wife of the late Archie H. Kanupp who died in 1960. She was also preceded in death by three sons, Archie H. Kanupp, Jr., Eugene Byrd Kanupp and Douglas Arthur Kanupp, a sister, Kate Shipman and a brother, Sam Melton.
Mrs. Kanupp retired from CTS as a plant worker and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Fairview.
Survivors include two sons, Boyce Kanupp and Donald L. Kanupp, both of Skyland; eighteen grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren and several great, great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, June 23 at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road with Dr. Steve Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Calvary Episcopal Churchyard.
Pallbearers will be Russell Kanupp, Douglas Arthur Kanupp, Jr., Jack Kanupp, James Allen Kanupp, Ken Melton and Carl Melton.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7:00 - 8:30 PM at the funeral home and at other times at the home of Boyce Kanupp.

Carrie was my grandmothers cousin, she was the daughter of Elijah Burgin and Mira Earley Melton, my ggrandfathers twin brother. Sorry to hear about her death, I guess she was the oldest living relative of mine.
