Carroll David "Red" Plemmons, 72, of 31 Frisbee Rd., Asheville, died Thursday, September 21, 2006, at the VA Medical Center. Mr. Plemmons was born in Buncombe Co. and was a son of the late C.D. and Elaine Spivey Plemmons. Mr. Plemmons graduated from Sand Hill High School in 1952. He worked at Eddie Joyner's Muffler Shop and retired from Cox Auto Service. He was a veteran of the US Army. Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou Barbee Plemmons; one daughter, Teresa Lynn Sparger and husband Alan, of Comfort, TX; one son, David Plemmons and wife Kathy, of Myrtle Beach, SC; and two sisters, Janet and Lila Redmon, both of Asheville. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. His family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Sunday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave.

  4. I remember when I worked two doors down from Red. We were work ‘neighbors’ for over 20 years. He was a good worker and a good man. My condolences to his family.
