Catherine Isabella Campbell

Catherine Isabella Campbell, 91, of Givens Estates in Asheville, passed away Tuesday, December 20, 2016. A native of Princeton, NJ, she was a daughter of the late Milton and Barbara Shed Campbell. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Campbell Currie and one brother, John Marshall Bruce Campbell. Catherine was a member of Arden Presbyterian Church. One of the primary reasons that she moved to Asheville was its close proximity to the Cove, where she enjoyed spending time studying and discussing the Bible. In her retirement, she attended Cairn University (formerly known as the Philadelphia Biblical University). She is survived by one niece, Betty Boney and her husband, Ben; one nephew, Peter B. Currie and his wife, Pam; one brother in law, Marion Currie and five great-nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM on Monday, December 26, 2016 at Alamance Memorial Park in Burlington, NC. Memorial donations may be made in Catherine's name to either Samaritan's Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607 or to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, 1 Billy Graham Parkway, Charlotte, NC 28201. Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
