Catherine Sentz Hall

Catherine Angules Sentz Hall, 73, formerly of Asheville, died Friday, October 10, 2003, at St. Joseph’s Hospital after a brief illness. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late William C. and Linda Long Sentz. She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Mary M. Lanning, Stella E. Davis, Lorraine A. Kendig and Inez T. Fox and by two brothers, George H. Sentz and John H. Sentz. She worked in retail sales for many years at Bon Marche, Meyers-Arnold, Ivey’s, Dillards and Hamricks and was a member of the Basilica of St. Lawrence. Survivors include a daughter, Linda R. Hall of Asheville; a son, William L. Hall of Asheville; her ex-husband, Jennings Jackson Hall; three sisters, Dorothy Whitaker of Asheville, Jenny Calloway and her husband Harry of Asheville and Helen Brown of Greer, SC; a granddaughter, Angules Marie Sikorski and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. A Funeral Mass of Resurrection will be said at 2:00 pm Monday at the Basilica of St. Lawrence with the Reverend Father Joseph Dinh officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 pm Sunday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
