Charles David Roberts, 73, of Candler, died Friday, December 26, 2008. Mr. Roberts was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late George and Gertrude Moody Roberts and was married to the late Mary Davis Roberts. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Debra Roberts, his son, John Scott Roberts, and a brother, Jim Roberts. Mr. Roberts was an Army veteran and a retired employee of EA Industries. He was an avid fisherman. He is survived by three daughters, Violet Russell and her husband, Mike, Linda Waites and Brenda Roberts, all of Candler; one son, David "Tiger" Roberts and his wife, Amy, of Canton; one sister, Carolyn Roberts of Norcross, GA, one brother, Ron Roberts of Norcross; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his beloved companion, his poodle, Mindy Roberts. A graveside service is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Pisgah View Memorial Park with the Rev. Charles Russell officiating. Memorials may be made to the VA Home Based Primary Care, c/o VA Medical Center, 1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805 (place on the check memo line "GPF HBPC").

    Always know that Cousin Myra is here for you guys.
