Charles Edward "Charlie" Caldwell, Jr., 42, passed away Friday, June 1, 2018, at Mission Hospital. Born in Buncombe Co., he was a son of the late Charles E. Caldwell, Sr. He had worked in the shipping department of Borg-Warner for 17 years, and more recently was working at Reich, LLC. His family include his wife, Tammie King Caldwell; sons, Dustin Caldwell (Caitlin Branch) and Tyler Smith; daughter, Taylor Smith; his mother and step-father, Wilma and Donald Gentry; sisters, Cynthia McDonald, Nina McMahan, (Brian) and Elizabeth Wright (James); mother and father-in-law, William E. and Martha King; special uncle, Willard Caldwell and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Willis officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday prior to the service.
