CHARLES E. HODGE Charles Edward Hodge, 73, of Marion, passed away Sunday, May 27, 2007 at his residence. A native of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late William Wayne Hodge, Sr. and Nannie Wright Hodge. He was preceded in death by his brothers, William Wayne Hodge, Jr., Rylle Evans Hodge, Herbert Curtis Hodge, Jiles Dickerson Hodge, David Warren Hodge and Clarence A. Hodge, a sister, Dorothy Lee H. Childress, and a son, Curtis Hodge. He worked as self-employed auto mechanic. Surviving are three sons, Larry Hodge of Weaverville, Herman Hodge of Glen Alpine and Carroll Hodge of Gainesville, GA; and two daughters, Cathy Coley of Gainesville, GA and Lib McMahan of Asheville; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Cane Creek Cemetery with Rev. Douglas B. Tilley officiating. Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue is assisting the family.
