Barbara and David,
My deepest condolences. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
When I think of Charlie, he always had a smile on his face and he always made me (and everyone around him) smile. He will be missed…though his spirit will continue to live in everyone he touched.
Sincerely,
Bob Roberts
Dear Barbara and family, I was so very sorry to see Charlie’s obituary in today’s paper. I had just been thinking of you and our upcoming Duke reunion in 2015, and was sorry I have not been in contact with you for some time. I am sad to know that your darling husband faced such a challenge and that he has now gone to Spirit. He must have been a wonderful partner, friend, father and loving husband as well as a stalwart of the greater community. I am sure he will be remembered fondly and sorely missed, and is now in a place of peace and light. May all of you find peace in time. Love Shep Henderson Foley ADPi

Barbara,
Charlie was such a help as well as friend when we worked together in Asheville in 95-96. While my time there was good, he made it better with his advice, suggestions or a good joke. I lost a good friend but you lost a better one. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
