CHARLES M. SMITH Charles Mitchell Smith, 67, of 755 Old Dandridge Pike, Strawberry Plains, TN, formerly of Leicester, died Friday, September 7, 2007, at his home. Mr. Smith was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late William Harley and Elizabeth Mae Davis Smith. He was of the Baptist faith and was an electronics technician with an industrial electronic repair company. He is survived by one son, William A. “Anthony” Smith of Strawberry Plains, TN and one grandson, Timothy Smith. A funeral service is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Jack W. Collins officiating. Interment will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Grace United Methodist Church Cemetery, Leicester. His family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Sunday at the funeral home.

  1. I have so many wonderful memories of Mr. Smith from my youth. He brought so much joy and laughter to me. I consider myself extremely lucky to have known him and to have shared time with him. Anthony, my heartfelt condolences go out to you and Timothy. Always remember all of the great moments you shared with him, and rejoice in the fact that he is no longer suffering. He is now with the Lord, with a new glorified body for all of eternity.
