Christian Blade Johnson, 23, died unexpectedly Saturday, November 12, 2016. A native of Asheville, he was a graduate of Asheville High School and had worked at Ingles and more recently Harris-Teeter in the delicatessen. His family include his mother, Dawn Conley Johnson; his father, Mark Johnson; sisters, Trinity Johnson and Carissa Johnson; his maternal grandmother, Geneva Conley; aunts, Tanya Johnson (Simon Leach), Kim Connor (Steve), and Tosha Johnson; and cousins, Margot Leach, Keegan Leach, Maddie Connor and Megan Connor. A gathering of his family and friends will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue, with a service led by the Rev.   2. Oh Dawn, I pray that God’s peace will comfort you and your family in this time. You guys were our little gift when we moved across the street from you so many years ago. I remember our girls and our boys were so glad they had each other. And I was so thankful for you. Chloe loved to go to church with you guys, and Christian helped us so often with our dog. Your family has meant a lot to us through the years. You are in our thoughts and in our prayers.

  3. I AM SO SORRY DAWN and to you to Mark and the girls . also to Geneva. My heart breaks for the family and this is such a tragedy to lose one so young. I hadn’t seen Christian in several years but He sure was an exceptional young man and always enjoyed talking to him . Dawn if I can help you anyway please let me know

  8. I’m very sorry for your loss. I didn’t get the chance to know Christian that well (different shifts) but every interaction I did have with him was awesome. He had a great sense of humor and comedic timing, and could always make you laugh. Its truly a tragedy to be taken so young.

  9. So very sorry for your loss. I met Christian many, many years ago. I’m Teri’s mom and remember the boys hanging together. Like others I am saddened that a young life was taken in such a way. God will be with you. You will feel His embrace. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

  17. I am so sorry ,I was talking to Stephen today and I remember Christian’s 1st Birthday. He was sitting in his high chair with cake all over his face. Praying for the family. Love ya!!

  18. Mr. & Mrs. Johnson,

    My heart goes out to you and your family, my condolences. Chris and I never officially met face to face, but he and I along with a few others (Evans, Troy, Jess) played online games together for roughly 8 years. During that time we became friends.

    As a group we cared about each other. Whenever any of us experienced loss or pain Chris was always there for us. Needless to say the news of his passing has had a big impact on our group.

    I know nothing I can say will lessen your loss, but perhaps you can take solace in the fact that your son had such a huge impact on his friends.

  26. I am just so so sorry. I remember Christian as the cute little 5 year old boy. I really wish we all could have stayed in touch over the years. I have so many fond memories of you all from my childhood… I just hate this. My heart goes out to you and your family, and you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

You know where Christian is and I know this is very painful for you and I am praying deeply for you. I hope you can take comfort in know that your baby boy is in Heaven.
