Christine Johnson Baker, 92, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, August 6, 2020.

Christine was born February 4, 1928, in Robbinsville to the late Harley and Allie Dills Johnson. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Jack Ray Baker and son-in-law, David McMinn, and siblings, Edith Stewart, and Robert, Charles, and Burrell Johnson.

She was a member of Glady Missionary Baptist Church for more than 60 years and had worked in the Rayon Dept. of Enka/BASF for 45 years.

Her daughters were very thankful that she was a Christian and raised them in church. She devoted her life to the Lord and her family.

Mrs. Baker is survived by three daughters, Gail McCarson (Denny), Karen Worley and Sharon McMinn; eight grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Alice Morgan and Hazel Murray.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Glady Missionary Baptist Church. Pastors Steve Rogers and David Grindstaff will officiate and face masks will be required. A family graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. Monday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park

Mrs. Baker will lie in repose at Glady Church from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday

  2. What a precious lady! I was blessed to have known her and share time with her. She dearly loved her family and her Lord . She will forever be missed but just knowing she’s walking with Jesus can bring peace to us all.   3. Thinking of you Sharon and your family at a time like this. We all hate to let go of our mom and it is one of the hardest things you will have to do in your life. Robin and I know the feelings well. We were lucky to have them all these years. They both lived a long happy life.

  4. She was such a precious lady and joy to talk to. When I last saw her she and Sharon were having lunch at Applebee’s and she was in such good spirits. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.🙏🙏

  5. I have good MEMORIES of this women. When Sharon had her 16TH BIRTHDAY she let SHARON have a pj party.There was 6 of us there and I knew this had to be crazy time for her but she put up with our craziness and all. She also fixed us Sloppy Joe’s my very first one and it was so good. These were fun memories. Prayers for the family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
