Christine McGalliard Ball

Christine McGalliard Ball, 82, of 118 Gibbs Road, Leicester, died Thursday, June 24, 2004, at Hospice Solace Center. A native of Madison County, she was a daughter of the late James Otto and Talitha Browning McGalliard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, E. Joe Ball, Sr., who died in 1999 and by a daughter, Carol Ball Maney, who died in 1990. Mrs. Ball was a former nurse at Memorial Mission Hospital and was retired from Taylor Instruments. Survivors include two sons, Jerry Ball and Joe Ball, Jr, two daughters-in-law, Rosalie and Pat and a son-in-law, Perry Maney all of Leicester; three sisters, Kathleen Payne of Asheville, Pauline Payne and her husband York of Marion and Ruby Embler and her husband Leroy of Alexander; three grandchildren, Jonathan Ball of Leicester, Rebecca Ball of TN and Roxanne Ball Ketner and her husband Brandon of TN; two great-grandchildren, Brian and Josh Ketner. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Sunday at Ashelawn Gardens with Chaplain Jane Curran officiating. Her family will receive friends from 1:00-1:45 pm Sunday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue and at other times will be at the home of Jerry Ball, 110 Gibbs Road, Leicester.
