Christine Williams Davis, 86, of 15 Stratford Drive, Asheville, died Friday, May 16, 2008, at the Laurels of Greentree Ridge.
A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Frank and Connie Burnett Williams. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Davis, Sr., who died in 1979 and by a son, Charles Edward Davis, Jr., who died in 2003.
A graduate of Lee Edwards High School, she was retired from Square D and was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church where she played the piano and taught Sunday School.
Survivors include a daughter, Carol Calloway of Asheville; two sons, Ossie Davis of Arden and Randy Davis and his wife Sherree of Swannanoa; sister, Doris Plemmons of Winston Salem; brother, Frank Williams of Sarasota, FL; ten grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Reverend Clark Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Ashelawn Gardens.
Her family will receive friends from 7:00-8:30 pm Monday at the funeral home and request that memorials be made to New Bridge Baptist Church Building Fund, 199 Elkwood Avenue, Asheville, NC 28804.

How blessed we are by wonderful mothers. I feel certain there will be days of tears and then days of smiles as you remember her. Know that you are supported in prayer by many friends. You are in my thoughts, especially today.
