Christopher "Chris" David Penland

April 24, 1976 ~ August 13, 2021

Born in: Buncombe County, NC
Resided in: Arden, NC

Christopher “Chris” David Penland, 45, went home to the Lord on Friday, August 13, 2021 in his Arden home. He was the son of the late David Hobson Penland and Sandra Kay (Rice) Penland.

He was a beloved father, son, brother and uncle. Chris was a role model to his family and friends, demonstrating selflessness and generosity to all he came in contact with. Chris met many lifelong friends while he was employed at Steelcase, Aprotech, Linamar, and Continental. Everyone that knew him knew his smile and his laugh. He was once told his smile could light up Asheville. Chris has left a great void in the lives of all who knew him.

He is survived by his daughter, Aralei Penland; mother, Sandra (Rice) Penland; sister, Melissa Moffitt (Jeremy); brother, George Penland; two nieces, Michaiah and Brianna Moffitt; great-nephew, Ezra Moffitt; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, David Hobson Penland.
