Christopher “Chris” Matthew Barrett, 35, of Arden, passed away Monday, July 1, 2024 at Mission Hospital.

Chris was born December 30, 1988, in Asheville, and is the son of Marcus Deaver Metcalf (Kelly) and Denise Barrett Cody (Ronald). He is also survived by his paternal grandmother, Glenda Metcalf (Brent Walker); maternal grandmother, Lanora Andrews (Jesse); and step-sister, Haylee Melton (Adam). He was preceded in death by his step-sister, Megan Cody, and paternal grandfather, Roy Kenneth Metcalf.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 5, at Hice Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue.
