Christopher Hugh Peeler, 20, of 121 Brickyard Road, Asheville, a beloved son and brother, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 29, 2003. A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of Ron and Donna Henson Peeler of Asheville. He previously attended Erwin High School and was currently enrolled at Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College. He attended Fruit of Labor Worship Center. In addition to his parents, Chris is survived by his sister, Brittney Peeler of Asheville; maternal grandparents, Wilburn “Buster” and Sandra Henson of Candler; great-grandmother, Frances King of Asheville; aunts and uncles, Pat and Greg Hyver of Los Altos Hills, CA, Susan and Jim Pappas of Orlando, FL, Sharon and Dennis Sebring of Candler and Renee and Charley Henderson of Asheville; cousins, Delana Biddix of Etowah, Chuck Henderson of Asheville, Danny and Andy Hamlin of Candler, Ralph, Gregory, Scott and Todd Hyver of CA and Lynn Pappas of FL. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Reverend Willie Warren officiating. Burial will follow at New Morgan Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 pm Sunday at the funeral home.

    I am so sorry for your loss. I apologize for not making it to the funeral home but I learned of Chris’ passing today. I remember the love in your voice always when you spoke of him and what a nice young man he was when I met him. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.   7. I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I hadn’t really seen Chris lately, but I do remember riding the school bus with him. I lived on Brickyard throughout my school years. He was a wonderful young man and I know how much you miss him. He is in a truly better place now and I’m sure he’s watching over you guys.

I can’t believe it’s been a year since we lost Chris it seems like just yesterday we were at Sander’s hanging out (which is the last time I saw him) It gives me great comfort to know that he is in a better place now and that we will all have the chance to see him again one day. Ride on Chris and we will meet again…..

  17. I just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear about Chris. I hadn’t seen him in awhile but he is in a lot of my childhood memories. He was in most of my classes at Emma. He was a wonderful young man and he will never be forgotten.
