  1. John and Kitty:

There are no words of comfort that come easy, but please know that your friends are thinking about you and you are in our prayers.

    Bill and Joyce Miles

  2. Chris,
Its me Brooke. I just got off the phone with your mom and this is breaking my heart. You were my high school sweetheart and my first everything. You were my first kiss, my first love, my first everything and I will never ever forget the memories that we have together. We pushed so hard to keep our relationship of three years going. I still remember the first time you told me you loved me….Chris you have been through so much in your life and I am so proud of how far you have come. I now have a guardian angel. I love you Christopher Martin and I always have said that since the day we were together. Watch out for me and your family.

  3. Chris,
Its so hard to realize that you’re gone. I want you back so much! I cant believe we were just talking friday about hanging out! We shared some great memories and I still cant accept the fact that you’re gone. I know you’re watching over me all the time you were such a great person! I’ll never forget your mom getting on the phone and always making us say ‘i love you all the way to the moon and back’ before she would get off the phone. I miss you so much bub! Cant wait to see you again <3

    love,
    Whitney

  4. Chris,
It’s been so long since we talked but we were really good friends in high school. We had so many fun times together, from hanging out after school, to driving you and your friends to practice, to coming over to your house one Thanksgiving. I will never forget your smile and sweet hugs. Your were a great guy with an uplifting personality. I’m glad to know you are in heaven with God looking over you. Your family is in my prayers. I miss you already,
    Chelsie

  5. Chris you always knew how to make ppl laugh && brighten up their day i know we never hung out outside of school but yhu were a fun class mate its a shame that you GOD choose to take you as one of his angels as soon as he did because you were capable of doing so much your going to be missed so much and loved by many im going to miss your smiling face but now your in a better place R.I.P.

  6. We are so sorry for your loss. Please know we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers.

  7. Chris Martin… ive shared some memories with you which makes this hard. I know you turned your life around and I can honestly say im proud of you. Your in one amazing beautiful place and I cant wait to see you again one day. Rest in peace friend.

  8. Chris worked for me at Givens Estates. He was such a joy! One year he had to play the Easter Bunny at Givens for all the staff’s children and he was great! I’ll always remember his awesome sense of humor and the way he ‘brightened’ up the work day. It’s such a shame to lose someone so young with so much potential. God has an angel in his Heavens with Chris. My deepest condolensces!

  9. Chris, you were taken too fast from us. French III was the best class I ever had, and although things have changed so much since then, the memories of all the fun times we shared will never change. It broke my heart when Emily told me how you had turned your life around, and you will never know how proud i am of you, but now you’re in a better place, and i know i will see you again. You will never be forgotten. <3
    Shannon.

  10. Christopher Thomas Martin,
you were such and amazing person inside out. Its so hard for me to except the fact that your actually gone. Ill always cherish the memories i have of you and they will forever live on…
    You are truly missed!
May God bless us with an angels wing to dry our lonesome tears with. <3 <3

  11. I will never undertand the death of a former student. It just isn’t right. Chris was a student in my physical science class several years ago, and I immediately remembered him when I heard the news. My thoughts of Chris and his potential as an adult remain with the family at this time.

  12. To the Martin Family:
I am so sorry to learn of the loss of your son, Chris. I didn’t know Chris, but am friends with his Aunt Jean. Words can’t express how much my heart aches for you at this difficult time. My thoughts and prayers are with you now and in the months ahead. Peace and blessings to you.

  13. Chris,
It seems like just yesterday we were goofing around together in class and cruising around Asheville. (‘We look so cool right now!’.. can’t remember who said that, but it was great laughing about it) I’m proud to have called you my best friend for the time I was able to. I remember the conversations we had about each other’s lives like it was yesterday. You were so amazingly goofy and always fun to be around, and I’m so sorry that I never got to tell you how proud I am of your recovery. I saw your potential in ROTC when you were my right-hand man, and your great qualities never left you. I can’t stop looking at the picture of you and I after we winged the individual armed competition at Asheville High and got 3rd place. I remember being so proud! haha Sam got so upset because he thought they were going to call his name, but we both knew your swagger had it:) I love you and miss you so much, but you’re with God now so I know you know this. I’ll see you on the other side.
    Ellis

I pray daily for your strength Mr. and Mrs. Martin. You are two GREAT people!

  14. Chris, I didn’t know you that well but you always hung out with my ex boyfriend. You were always with him when I would come by, you seem like a loyal friend to him. The way you smiled and laughed, I knew that you were a unique person. I’m so sorry that you had to go soon, but God takes the best first. I believe that, you are an angel looking down at us and smiling. I know that you will be remembered forever. God bless you and your family.

  15. John and Kitty,
We personally know that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives were so enriched by having shared their love. Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.

  16. Dear John and Kitty:
Chris was a marvelous boy and a wonderful son. My heart is broken for you.
    Faye Burner

  17. John, My heart & prayers go out to you & your family. Please let me know if I can help you in any way. May He comfort you during this time of your loss.

  18. To the Martin family

I want to tell you how very sorry I am for your loss during this time . Though I had met your son only once I’m sure he made an impact on my son Jonathan who was at real recovery also . The kids were all very close and I thank god daily for Kevin and Dana . Please know you are in all our prayers and our deepest sympathy is with you during this time . May your memories bring you a sense of peace.

  19. Kitty and John, We are so sorry for your loss. There is little we can say or do when you lose someone you love, just know that others care and share your loss today. in sympathy Gail& Joe Mazzei

  20. John words cannot express how sorry we are for you in the loss of your son Christopher. Valerie and I want to express our heartfelt sympathy for you and your family in this time of sorrow. May God grant you strength and peace as you honor Christopher’s memory.

  21. I met chris when i worked at fun depot. we use to run lazer tag and talk about baseball and other sports. i have realized how quick life can come and go.

  22. Kitty & John,
Chris played baseball with our Grant. I loved Chris– not only was he a sweet boy and one of my facebook friends, but every time I was setting up for the Boosters Club Apparels at School he would come by and flash me a sweet smile in his handsome ROTC uniform and sat around just chatting .. . There are no words to tell you the sorry I feel for your lose but know that our Lord loved him more than we could ever love one of our children. I know it seems hard that anyone could love him more than yall but—– today I pray that the peace that only comes for Jesus Christ will be with you and your family today and the days to come.. Please know our hearts are broken in the Petty house today for the lost of your dear Son, Chris. With this loss so great please know that you have friends to help you with anything you need. I am just a call away if ever you need anything.
Our Love, Debbie & Carl Petty,

  23. May your love reach Chris now and transcend to him.
May he go to the land that awaits him with open arms, and the spirits welcome him where we all must go.

  24. My most sincere condolences for your loss. I had just begun to know Chris and was very impressed with his insight and deep motivation to improve his situation. I had little doubt that he would be successful. May God comfort you in this time of rememberence and hope you gain strength in the knowledge that he is happier and stronger than ever now.
