Claire Berry Johnson

Claire Berry Johnson, 83, of Asheville, died Friday, October 5, 2007, at Samaritan Place Assisted Living. A native of Bronx and Queens, NY, and a former resident of Connecticut, she was a daughter of the late Francis J. and Marion Wolfson Berry. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Marcel Johnson, who died in 1998, and by her brother, William Berry, who died August 11, 2007. Survivors include a step-son, Paul Johnson of Marietta, GA and a niece, Lydia Berry of Burtonsville, MD. Graveside services will be 11:00 am Monday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park with the Reverend Donald N. Welborn officiating. Her family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Sunday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Avenue. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058.
