GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN….R.I.P. MY FRIEND
Clarence was a precious friend and brother in Christ. He loved his Lord and served Him faithfully in his daily life and in his local church. Clarence was a people person and loved by all who knew him. He was a faithful choir member at West Asheville Baptist Church and faithful in every way he served at the church. He sold my family cars through the years at Skyland Dealership. He made sure each car had a small New Testament in the glove department for sharing Jesus. He was an honest and trustworthy car salesman. He faithfully sent the Johnson family cards of encouragement over the past 45 years. Even as his health began to fail, we received those cards and calls. His heart was kind, giving, compassionate, honest, sensitive, and loving. He was a humble man who loved his Lord, family, friends and church. I will miss that sweet smile and tenor voice. As daddy would say, death is but a comma for the believer, not a period. His last breath on Earth was his first breath in heaven. Praise the Lord for the gift of salvation and a home in heaven for all eternity. Clarence is with his Lord and Savior. Clearance touched and enriched my life. My prayers are with you family.
Jesus said…’I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in Me will never die.’ John 11:25-26
Our deepest sympathy and wishes to his family.
Clarence taught me everything here at Skyland. He was amazing at following up with his customers , he sent everyone a card from his customer to the gold fish, dog or cat. Customers loved him. I’ve tried to follow in his footsteps here at Skyland its been very hard to do. He was here 41 years and I don’t think anyone has ever done or will do what he did. I know he’s with the good Lord now , with his wife looking in on us to make sure we do a good job. Thanks for everything Bullfrog. I will check the lot for you.
What a wonderful man! Always a smile and a kind word regardless of where you ran into him. Clarence and my father were good friends, and my Dad wouldn’t buy a car from anybody else. A faithful servant of the Lord, he’s rejoicing in Heaven…waiting for the rest of us to join him. He will truly be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with the family.
We are praying for you Tim and Susie and family members as you walk through this time of sorrow. We grieve with you in the loss of your Dad who was a wonderful man and a great Christian. We rejoice with Clarence, however, for he will never suffer again. He is with His Savior whom he loved and faithfully served. We will miss his friendship here on earth but we look forward to seeing him in heaven.
Dr. and Mrs. James Johnson
Pastor Emeritus, West Asheville Baptist Church
I remember Clarence when I was adjusting claims with Nationwide Insurance in the 70s and 80s out on Patton Avenue. He was a class act and a straight shooter when it came to car values > something which is sorely lacking today. My deepest sympathy to his family.
Clarence was a dear friend when we came to West Asheville .
We will not forget him.
Prayers for this family. I worked with ‘Bullfrog’ at Skyland Automotive. He was a sweet man.
Sorry to just learn Clarence passing my deepest sympathy goes out to Susie and Tim and all the family. I was molded in those young years spend with all of you at church and home and will always have him in my memories. God Bless! With Love to all of you:
It was our pleasure to know Clarence when we were at West Asheville Baptist Church. He certainly was faithful to the Lord, in actions and speech. A very kind man whose family will miss him. So wonderful to know he was escorted to the throne room of heaven and lives eternally. Our prayers are with you, family, as you grieve, but we know your fond memories of him will keep your hearts smiling. Love and prayers. Alvin & Priscilla Morgan
Clarence was such a sweet, kind, caring man never was in a bad mood he always had a smile and a hello for everyone, miss the days of working with
him. Praying for the family.
Susie: I’m sorry about the passing of your dad. Clarence was a fine gentleman and brother in the Lord. Marie and I sang with him in the WABC choir for a number of years singing was a great joy to him. We are still driving a car we bought from him with the leather fob on the key. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and all your family.
Mr. Simpson was such a wonderful Christian man. When I spoke with him at church he always greeted me with a smile and said ‘Hello boss’. There will be many crowns for him in heaven because he was so faithful to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I will miss you my brother. God bless you all.
Susan and Tim, I am so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. I knew when he missed his last haircut he must be sick. Your parents were such sweet friends and I miss them so much. I did your Mom’s hair for 50 odd years and your Dad’s for many years, also. We know they are together again.Thinking of you and God Bless. Love Judy
We were some of Clarence’s customers and have the new testament he left in our car! Also sold to my parents, now in heaven with Clarence! He lived his testimony every day. May your memories be sweet. Prayers for you and your family.
He was a good Christian man. I will see you in heaven. Carroll and Helen Messer and their daughter Carolyn Messer Trull. RIP Clarence
Mr. Simpson sold us our first new car in 1979. We still have the Testament he presented us. It has traveled with us in each car we have had since that date. We recently saw him at Pisgah Manor. He was a special person. Our sympathy to the family.
