Claude was born October 4, 1918 in Buncombe County and was the son of the late John Woodfin and Mary Cole Barlett.
Surviving are his wife of sixty years, Kathleen Holcombe Bartlett; two sons, Dennis and his wife, Joyce of Yorktown, VA and his two daughters, Whitney Galley of Safety Harbor, FL and Sydney Bartlett of Bradenton, FL; Rick and his wife, Carolyn of Statesville, NC and their children, Alex, Arik and Landon; one daughter, Patricia Furness of Mountain Lakes, NJ and her children, Blair and Bart, and one brother, Harvey Bartlett of Fort Myers, FL.
Claude retired in 1982 from Fishburne Equipment International as VP of production. He was a member of Arden First Baptist Church and had served as deacon of several churches during his lifetime.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian on Long Shoals Road with Ministers Stephen Summers and Dan Waller officiating. Interment will follow in Pisgah View Memorial Park, Candler, NC.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.
