Claude Hillery Scott, 82, of 82 North Turkey Creek Road, Leicester, went to be with his loving savior Thursday, September 4, 2008, at the John F. Keever, Jr. Hospice Solace Center.
Mr. Scott was a native of Haywood County and was a son of the late Hubert and Deliah Worley Scott. He was an Army veteran of WW II and a member of Mt. Herman Masonic Lodge #118 and Beulah Baptist Church. He was the owner and operator of Leicester Machine Shop.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Faye Walker Scott; one son, Gene Scott and wife, Jean, of Leicester; one granddaughter, Debbie Hall of Spartanburg, SC; three brothers, Lloyd W. Scott of Florida, LeRoy Scott and wife, Jo, of Leicester, and Cecil B. Scott and wife, Debbie, of Sacramento, CA; and a number of beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Marvin R. Scott, who died December 3, 2008.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Worley officiating. Masonic Rites will be provided by the Mount Herman Lodge, and military honors rendered by the NCANG at Green Hills Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

We were all saddened at Claude’s death. I told Mama that I knew one thing for sure….Pine Knot and Green Hornet were spinning some TALL tales together, now! I’ll bet they are rockin’, dippin’ and having a ball together! Know that we love you and you were both very dear to our hearts!
