Claudia Harrison passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014.
A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late John and Louetta Moore and was also preceded in death by her son, Steve Harrison, Jr.
She was a member of Emma's Grove Baptist Church and retired from First Union National Bank in 2002.
She is survived by her husband, Steve M. Harrison; daughter, Sharon Elizabeth; brother, Howard Eugene and two granddaughters, Madeline and Isabella.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm Thursday at Emma's Grove Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Gene King and Claudia's brother, the Rev. Gene Moore. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 until service time Thursday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the ALS Association, Jim "Catfish" Hunter Chapter, 4 N. Blount Street, Raleigh, NC 27601 or to the Building Fund of Emma's Grove Baptist Church.
Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.

I am so sorry for the loss of your dear, sweet Mama. She touched so many lives including mine. I will always remember her smile and loving face. Hold tight to the memories you have, and rest in the knowledge that she suffers no more and is united with Jesus and Steve Jr. forever. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

I am so sorry to hear of Claudia’s passing. I saw it in the newspaper. You and your family are in my prayers during this difficult time. I lost my mother 16 months ago and it is a very difficult journey. Beth – I pray for peace for you in knowing your mom is with Stevie and other family members who have gone Home.
