Clayton David King

Clayton David King, 92, of Hendersonville, died Tuesday, July 13, 2021 in his residence.

Born in Yancey County, he was the husband of the late Kathleen (Ray) King, and the son of the late Marion and Cordelia (Robinson) King. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Joyce Rodden; two brothers: Eugene and Roy King; and three sisters: Pauline Harris, Bertha McGraw and Willie Harris.

Clayton is survived by a daughter, Linda Seay (Jeff) of Hendersonville; three grandsons: Wayne Rodden (Alicia) and Matthew (Sommer) and Jeremy (Bethann) Buchanan; seven great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Cane Creek Cemetery in Fairview with Pastor Tony Birkhead officiating. Clayton will lie in state at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian from 8 AM until 5 PM Friday, July 16 and from 8 AM until 12:00 PM Saturday, July 17 for those who would like to view and sign the register book. At other times, the family will be at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Four Seasons Hospice, 571 S. Allen Rd., Flat Rock, NC 28731.
