Arden - Cleva Bernice Cody Holcombe, 78, went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, February 13, 2007.
A Madison County native, she lived most of her life in Buncombe County. She is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph John Holcombe and also her mother Pearl Ballard Cody and father Euclid McKinley Cody, brothers Ernest Cody and Doyle Cody and sister Shirley Cody Willis all of Mars Hill.
Surviving are daughters, Dianna Holcombe Walker and husband Bob of Fletcher, Sheila Holcombe Jarvis and husband Gary of Arden; four grandchildren, Jodi Anderson and husband Perry, Freedom Critcher, Heather Radford and husband Ryan, Hannah Jarvis and step grandson, Mark Walker; two great-grandchildren Joey and Josh Browning; and two step great-grandchildren, Taylor and Robbie Walker; brother Clarence Cody of Mars Hill and sister Wanda Ramsey of Florida.
She was a seamstress for 25 years at Kellwood and Company and member of Arden Presbyterian Church. She will be greatly missed.
The family will receive friends at Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian from 6:00 ? 8:00 PM on Thursday.
The funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday at Groce Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Crabb officiating.
Burial will be at 2:00 PM at Upper Laurel Baptist Church in Mars Hill.
Memorials may be made to the Arden Presbyterian Church Missions Fund, 2215 Hendersonville Road, Arden, NC 28704.

Quiet, humble, kind, soft spoken…these are all characteristics of Aunt Cleva. Diane and Sheila, you were so good to her. I know she will be missed terribly..but heaven has received a new angel.
