Clinton Hilliard Taylor

Clinton Hilliard Taylor, 83, of 100 Hazel Mill Road, Asheville, died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at the VA Medical Center. Mr. Taylor was born in Buncombe County and was preceded in death by his parents, James and Celia Rymer Taylor and by his first wife, Geneva Lamb Taylor. He was a Navy veteran of WW II and was a member of the VFW Post 891, Masonic Lodge #665, Asheville Pipefitters Union #487 and #421, and Grace Baptist Church. He was a retired welder and pipefitter. Surviving are his wife, Mary Louvenia Taylor; two daughters, Gay Robinson of Candler and Faye Igoe of Leicester; two sons, Daniel Taylor of Gonzales, LA and Jimmie Taylor of Smithville, TX; a step-daughter Barbara Parker of Leicester; a step-son Terry Freck of Asheville; a sister Hilda Bartlett of Florida; two brothers, Charles Taylor of Texas and Broadus Taylor of Asheville; eleven grandchildren, April Worley and her husband Joe, Janine Anderson, Leiza Liner, Dillon Taylor, Kenneth Taylor, Pamela Eason Barrow, Vickie D’Antoni, Kris Taylor, Kathy Lawless, Melissa Taylor and Clinton Taylor; four step-grandchildren, Doug, Mark, Willie and Seth Taylor; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Coxie officiating. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.
