Clyde D. Banks Jr. (Little Clyde), 57, of Candler, NC was called home by the Lord on May 19th, 2024.

Clyde was born in August,1966 to Clyde Banks Sr. and the late Ellen Elizabeth Jones. He was a graduate of Enka High School, class of 1984.

Clyde was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned.

He is survived by his daughter, Katie Flowers; son, Garrett Banks; Grandson, Ezekiel Flowers; his son in law, Josh Flowers; his daughter in law, Lacy King Banks; his father, Clyde Sr.; sisters: Marlene, Roxie, and Debbie; brothers: Billy and Ernie; and beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, great aunts, great uncles, and friends that were more like family.

Clyde was passionate about the Lord, and reading the word every day, praying for his loved ones and anyone that could use God’s touch was part of his quiet time. He was knowledgeable in all things, but he was a certified arborist, and a NC licensed septic installer.

Clyde’s hobbies included but were not limited to fixing up vehicles, building homes, fixing anything he could get his hands on, gardening, making biscuits, sneaking his son’s dog treats he shouldn’t have, teaching his grandson how to drive construction vehicles, and when the long days were
done, sitting in his chair.

A celebration of life will be held Tuesday May 21st, 2024 at 12pm at Browns View Church, 25 Browns View Church Rd, Candler NC 28715.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. So saddened by the sudden loss of Little Clyde. He was loved by so many of his family and friends. Great memories of working in the garden, shucking corn, breaking green beans on Lou Lou’s back porch, canning and just sitting around talking. He could do almost anything and would instruct you on how to do things if he thought you didn’t know how. I will miss doing these things with my nephew and will miss him. I pray for comfort and peace for Garrett, Katie, his dad and his siblings. Taken too soon but resting in the arms of Jesus. Love you Little Clyde and will see you again one day. Aunt Phyllis and Uncle Leon

    • You were definitely taken too soon. I’m heartbroken, but I know that you are with Jesus right now, and your momma. I know that was a great reunion!! I can only imagine the joy of being together once more. I love you little Clyde. ❤️ And I miss you so much already! Your smile, your laugh, your advice, your stories. I’ve been sitting here remembering all the things we all did together when we were kids. You always looked out for me. I remember the blizzard, Tyson and I were snowed in and daddy was working the storm, you dug yourself and your truck through Big Cove and rescued us and delivered us to momma and Daddy’s house. You have the biggest heart. Not goodbye. I’ll see you later. ❤️Robin

  2. I love you Clyde you will be missed every time I seen him he had a small on his face always kidding and joking with you he was a great man

  3. So saddening by the loss of our Little Clyde. I will always cherish the memories of our childhood, the closeness of all our cousins. Playing kickball, softball, building forts on the dirt bank behind your mom and dad’s. All the Vacation Bible school at Beaverdam Baptist , going to all your football games and all the Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners at mom and dads house. Your aunt Lou Lou and uncle Big B. You are truly loved and missed.

  4. Sorry to hear this. Hauled a many of load of gravel to Clyde. Family remember you will see him again. Prayers for all the family.

  5. Clyde was a little younger than me but a real man , hurts me to hear he’s gone rest easy brother

  6. You where heavy on my heart and was strolling through you tube when a song came up called “you can’t tell me I’m dieing” after I listen to it , it was like a peaceful filling knowing that no matter how heartbroken it was to know that you wouldn’t be with us much longer I knew heavens gates would be open wide.. Jesus was there to welcome you to the other side.. I’m thankful that God gave us you for the time he did.. I know we didn’t see each other much but when I did see you, you were always smiling and joking. You will be dearly missed, thanks for the wonderful memories. My prayers are with all of you family..

  7. Dear Family, I pray the sweet Holy Spirit of God will comfort you all during this time of grief. I visited Clyde Saturday and we prayed together while the Holy Spirit caused tears to flow down our cheeks. While you are sad and devastated over this tragic loss you can know that Clyde is the happiest that he has ever been. He is with the Lord Jesus Christ forever. I love You’uns and you are all in my prayers.
