Clyde O. Penland
July 2, 1925 ~ May 14, 1999
Mr. Penland was born in Buncombe County and was a son of the late Pat
and Daisy Lunsford Penland. He was retired from the Asheville School.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Penland; four daughters, Gloria Swelling of Georgia, Millie King of Leicester, Sandra Edwards of Weaverville, and Emily Prater of Virginia; a son,Tony Penland of Asheville; a siser, Alline Austin of Asheville; a brother, Zeb Penland of Oteen; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Ingle officiating. Burial will be in
Skyview Memorial Park.
His family will receive friensd 30 minutes prior to the service and request that memorials be made to Mountain Area Hospice, PO Box 16, Asheville, NC 28802.
