Clyde Hillary Worley, 88, passed away Monday, March 11, 2024 at The Laurels of Hendersonville.

Mr. Worley was born in Leicester, NC to the late Wade H. Worley and Lillian Reeves Worley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen King Worley and a brother, James Worley.

Clyde was a graduate of Leicester High School, class of 1955. He joined the Army and served from 1955 to 1957 stationed mostly in Germany. He was a member at West Asheville Baptist Church and loved his Sunday School Class. Clyde had worked at Cranston Print Works in Fletcher and the Byrum Seed Company in Fletcher. He went on to purchase the Trading Post in Leicester and ran it for a number of years. Before his retirement he had worked at the Ingles Warehouse in Black Mountain and the Farmers Market in West Asheville.

Clyde is survived by his two sons; Brian Worley (Monique) of Fletcher and Mitchell Worley (Jackie) of Candler; three grandchildren, Madison Worley of Fletcher, Scotty Worley of Candler and Tonya Rhinehart (Mike) of Candler; a niece, Debbie Worley of Leicester; a nephew, Kenneth Worley of Fairview; a sister-in-law, Gail Moore (Max) of Leicester; a brother-in-law, Wayne King of Leicester and several great grandchildren.

A memorial service to honor Mr. Worley will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024 at 3:00 pm at Radiant Church in Arden with Dr. Timothy Brown officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00. Inurnment with military honors will follow at Green Hills Cemetery in Asheville.
