Connie Embler Poore

Connie Embler Poore, 92, of 773 Asbury Road, Candler, died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at her home. A native of Buncombe County, she was a daughter of the late Rev. J. Mitch and Doshia Griffin Embler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Emerson E. Poore, who died in 1967 and by four sisters, Delphia Embler, Bonnie Gillespie, Pearl Boyd and Elsie Ramsey; two brothers, JC Embler and Clyde Embler. She was retired from American Enka and was a faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church. A wonderful Christian mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Ledford and husband Douglas of Candler; a granddaughter, Shelly Cloud and husband Edward of Candler; three great-grandchildren, Andrew, Savannah and Conor Cloud; a sister, Bernice Marler and husband Vernon of Asheville; brothers, Leroy Embler and wife Ruby, David Embler and John Embler, all of Alexander. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Todd Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
