Cora Green Passmore

Cora Green Passmore, 96, of Candler, died Tuesday, June 20, 2000 in an Asheville hospital. A native of Jackson County, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Kate Ensley Green. She was preceded in death by her husband William (Jack) Passmore who died in 1989, sisters, Fannie, Ethel, Selma and Willa and a brother Ode. She was retired from Sayles Biltmore Bleacheries and was a member of Sand Hill Baptist Church. She is survived by a sister, Lona Lowe of Candler; brothers, Lewis (L.V.) Green of Asheville, Robert H. (Dick) Green of Sylva and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Patton Avenue Chapel of Groce Funeral Home. Reverend Melvin Brooks will officiate with burial following in Pisgah View Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and at other times will be at the home of Peggy Smith, 37 Mountain Terrace Rd., Asheville, NC 28806.
