Cordie C. Clay, 74, of 22-B Cedarwood Drive, Asheville, died Thursday, June 22, 2000,, at the
Hospice Solace Center.
Mrs. Clay was born in High Point and was a daughter of the late Worth and Maude Smith Cox. She was retired from Bell South as a Service Representative and was a member of Groce United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Lewis H. Clay; one daughter, Susan Clay of Charlotte; and one son, Lewis H. Clay, Jr. and his wife Patti of Candler.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral
Home with the Rev. J. Alexander Ward officiating. Burial will be at Ashelawn Gardens.
Her family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Friday at the funeral home.
