Corine Greer Fields, 89, of Asheville, passed away on Friday, January 6, 2017, at the residence of her son in Mills River. Born in Fairburn, Georgia, to the late Raymond and Bessie Greer, she retired from Southern Bell Telephone Co. in 1983 after thirty-five years of service. She was a member of Telephone Pioneers and The Place Fellowship Church. Corine will be remembered for her sense of humor and infectious laugh. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Eugene Fields. Surviving is one son, Bruce Fields (Myra) and one daughter, Lou Ann Stover (Chester); six grandchildren, Courtney, Taylor, Darah (Aric), Rebecca (Chuma), Jacob (Candice), Katie (Jon); and eight great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 p.m. in the Tunnel Road chapel of Groce Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Sky View Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Memorials may be made to Brother Wolf Animal Rescue, 31 Glendale Ave., Asheville, NC, 28803.
