Craig Elliot Mills, 24, of Asheville, died Thursday, November 14, 2013. Elliot was the son of Craig and Cathy Mills. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers Kyle Mills, of Winston-Salem, and Eric Mills, of Asheville; aunts, Martha Uhl, of Evansville, IN, and Mary Andrews and her husband Jim, of Poland, IN; his uncle Bill Uhl and wife Jean, of Piney River, VA; cousin, Carey Montgomery and family of Arlington, TX; uncle, Clyde Mills of Asheville; aunt, Carol Waters and husband Bob, and cousin, Christina of Alaska; grandmother, Virginia Mills of Asheville; and "Uncle" Paul and Carol Rifkin, of Asheville. Elliot was a member of Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church and a 2008 graduate of Asheville High School where he ran cross country and track. Most recently, he was enrolled in the EMT program at AB-Tech. He enjoyed spending time with his family, his dog, and his friends. He loved music, a good joke, and the outdoors. Most of all he loved fishing with his brothers and his dad, often floating the rivers of North Carolina, Tennessee, and Montana. Elliot was known for his warm smile, and his calm and generous spirit. He truly was everyone's friend. A memorial service for Elliot will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastors Curtis Goforth and David Warren. His family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Elliot Mills Memorial Fund at Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church, 171 Beaverdam Road, Asheville, NC 28804. Donations may also be made to Clean Water for North Carolina, The Elliot Mills Memorial Fund, 29 Page Ave, Asheville, NC 28801, www.cwfnc.org.
