Daniel Neil Jennings, 64, of Fletcher, died Friday, December 26, 2008 at his residence. A native of Buncombe County, he was the son of the late Raymond and Frances Davis Jennings. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Rita Fieffer. Mr. Jennings was retired from Gerber as the Co-Plant Manager and was also a professional photographer for over 30 years and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife, Victoria Austin Jennings; a daughter, Angela Lynn VanTrigt and her husband, Peter, of Greensboro, NC; a brother, Arlo Jennings and his wife, Arleen, of Arden; a sister, Gelene King and her husband, Green, of Leicester; a brother in law, Warren Fieffer of Weaverville and a grandson, Pierson VanTrigt, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 30, 2008, in the chapel of Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian with the Reverend Ralph Sexton, Pastor Donnie Walker and Reverend Arleen Jennings officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Shepherd Memorial Park Mausoleum In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Trinity Baptist Church Building Fund, 216 Shelburne Road, Asheville, NC 28806.

  2. Dan was a good friend. He encouraged me to buy a camera when Adrian and I went to Venezuela for Gerber. I had worked some in school in photography years before. Dan got me interested again. I went on to work some professionally. I’m so sorry to hear of his passing. God bless the family. Everyone will miss him.

  3. I worked with Dan at Gerber from 1978-83, when he was in Quality Control. He helped me a lot in my hobby of photography. He was a great guy. My deepest sympathy to all the family.

  9. I am so sorry to hear about Danny. He has been a dear friend since the early 60’s. He is now with his mother and Rita. In his own way he loved each of you. My prayers are with ALL of the family.

  14. I am real sorry about your loss, and our sincere Condolences. Daniel was a good person. Christmas Day I had spoke with him about getting together after the rush. Daniel took our wedding photos 35years ago. If you would contact me when you feel like it and we can talk then. May the Lord keep you and be with you always.

    I was so saddened to hear about your brother’s passing. Working here at the hospital, I see death just about everyday. It’s especially hard when its someone your know, or their family member. I know you all are hurting right now, but just remember all the good times that you had with him,while he was here with us. I know he’s an angel watching over each of you.
