David was always a nice, sweet, out going guy that met no stranger’s, awsome dj, & we all had good times together, now we are left with those great memories we all got to share with you!! Hard to understand why you were takin so soon, but God knows why, gone, but never forgotten!! We love & miss you, I know I’ll miss getting your random invites David, me &Travis & Daisee were talking about the night we was at your house playin air darts & you was trying to kill that possum good times

I knew David as David. Not dj Thunder. David was the guy that was always on the ballfield helping the kids at practice, the guy that loved playing the sport himself. David always had a huge heart and absolutely loved kids. My heart breaks for his little girl and his parents. No parent should ever have to lose a child. David you are truly going to be missed. I know your in heaven smiling down on everyone. Rest in peace my friend. See you again on the other side.

I remember when you joined the Sound Extreme family. You came to train with me at the Spring House in Maggie Valley. I called Ben the next day to let him know that ‘this guy is gonna be really good’. Not only an awesome DJ but an awesome person. The Sound Extreme family will miss you, but the lord needs you in heaven to sing in his choir now, a gig that will last for eternity. David was a kind person with an amazing heart. So many of us will mourn his passing but we should all be consoled in knowing he is watching down on all of us from above.

I met David almost 8 years ago and what a blessing. He always knew how to make you smile even on the worst days ever! You will always be missed!

David, I don’t really know what to say here. You were a wonderful person all around, a good man, a good friend, and you left a positive mark on everyone you met. I’ll always remember the good times, from watching you umpire and help out with the little league, playing on the same ball team, DJ’ing shows, or just sitting at my house watching wrestling and watching my kids hang all over you. I will never, ever forget you brother. The tears that we cry in the next few days, weeks, months will just be a reminder of all the good times that we shared. We won’t cry because you’re gone because we know that you are in a better place. But every tear will remind us that we will see you again soon. Watch over us all and keep us smiling like you always did while you were here. I love you brother.

David, I didn’t have the privilege of knowing you as long as others did. But the time that I did know you felt like a lifetime. The conversation we shared were always so heartfelt. You, as others will agree, were such a great listener. If there was ever a time I needed to just talk, you were there to listen. Of our conversation I remember the most you talking about your baby girl and how much she meant to you. You wanted nothing more than to be the best daddy any little girl could ask for. Sweet David now you are surrounding her in everything she does. Maddie will never be without her daddy.
Heaven gain one amazing angel. I can only imagine the look one Jesus’ face when he saw those big baby blues and that smile that would give the sun a run for it’s money standing at those Pearly Gates! We are all sad now because we miss you, but help us to let the sadness pass with the strength of knowing that we will see you again.

The world lost an amazing man! I am so lucky to have been able to call u my friends for the years that I have and will always be great full for such an amazing friend! The 9-10 years that I’ve known you I can say were a real blessing you always had a smile on your face even if I knew you had stuff going on in the head and heart of yours. The Bible tells us to become as a little child..David did this..he was the same at thirty as he was a nine…just bigger..he was sweet, loving and kind. He loved like he had never been hurt, forgave quickly, and laughed loudly. He accomplished what very few in life do …He was Happy…I have no doubt that is why God took him early….He was ready…David your smile and love will be missed! Sarah you had the best big brother ever, you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. The world is a little darker without his smile. It is up to each of us to find the light (God) that burned within David and share it with the world .RIP David and may the peace that passes all understanding flow down to each of his loved ones.

David was the first person to ever give me thecourage to sing a new place I met him about 10 yrs ago and have just loved him as my friend ever since he was a wonderful man and will never be forgotten but will be greatly missed

David, Ed and I had the pleasure of knowing you for well over 10 years and what years they have been! For every down time, there were at least 10 great times! You made us all smile and laugh, think and ponder, go and do, in short you made all of us wiser and happier to have known you. Like everyone we are saddened and in shock but know with absolute certainty that you are in heaven watching over us all and will continue to light the way until we meet again. Love ya and miss ya so very much sweetie!

Carla and family. I was shocked and saddened to hear about the sudden death of David. I remember bringing you a present when he was born and I was pregnant with my son James. Last summer , you talked to me when you called as a liason for Mission Hospital about my dad;s health-I think you were calling for Dr..Treakle. You recognized my name and we talked a minute. I hadn’t seen you or your family for years. I am so sorry that the next contact we hd was one concerning tragedy. I probably mentioned that I lost my son, Andrew at 15, so I know how it feels to loose a child. My father, Ken Cukbreth, died in late August. Carla, thanks for reacching out to me when he was beginning to get sick last spring. You will all be in my thoughts. My son and Jamie Deweese are good friends, but since David and my son, James, didnt go to school together, I don’t think they knew eachother. Our prayers and hearts are with you all. To the parents and Family of David, my deepest condolences. Having been a co-worker with David at Charter Communications I came to enjoy the easy banter between us. His quick wit, charming smile and those captivating eyes always put a smile on your day. Thoughts and prayers for you as you walk this difficult new journey. I can only imagine the pain of your loss. May you find peace, comfort and strength thru God’s promises. This young man’s absence will be felt by many yet his spirit will live on thru a loving child, Daddy’s little girl.

I met David as a DJ, but he became a friend. Never Thunder to me, not that that matters but anytime and anywhere I saw him, he was just like a big teddy bear smiling and hugging me. I know he left too soon in all our eyes and it breaks my heart. I just have to believe for whatever reason his # of days on this earth seem so few, God has a bigger plan. Knowing his nickname it will bring a whole new meaning to the sound of thunder from this day on. And I know he’s got to be smiling the biggest smile ever in heaven. Miss you much David.

David was the same no matter where you were he would give you a big hug and would tell you how glad he was to see you. we loved having him in our home for get togethers. David was a joy to have in our lives. just remember everyone that was at the service was a testiment of David and those who could not be there. please know David we love and miss you dearly. Dear family of David: Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your dear loved one: I did not know David personally, but on reading his obituary and condolences, I can see that he was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by everyone. Death is such a tragedy for all of us, especially at such a young age. And when it touches us personally, few of us find the comfort that we search for. And death itself leaves so many of us with unanswered questions. However, many have found comfort in God’s Word the Bible. The Bible teaches that soon, God will swallow up death forever and wipe the tears from all faces. (Isaiah 25:8) God also promises to reunite us with our dear loved ones, by means of a resurrection, right here on earth, and we can live life to the full in paradise, that will be filled with peace, happiness and perfect health for everyone. What a wonderful hope and prospect this is. (John 5:28,29; Revelation 21:4; Psalms 37:10,11,29; Isaiah 33:24) As you read the above texts in your Bible, may the wonderful hope they give us, along with loving memories, bring you a measure of comfort, during this most difficult time. My beautiful baby boy! When you were born it was just the two of us! What does a 17 year old know, so granny helped us. You were her baby also. You had a lot to deal with while growing up.

We talked everyday the week you died. Almost like you knew something! Wish you would have told me. You are Maddi’s guardian angel now! I will make sure she knows how much you loved her!

Your teachers always told me how ‘social’ you were, and granny would say ‘social skills are important’. Now I know that those social skills made you who you were! A gentle giant, (actually Granny wanted that put in your obituary). The biggest prettiest blue eyes and perfect eyebrows. You sure did have a good group
of friends. I told them I was going to come out and check all of their blood pressures.

Not sure what I’m suppose to do now! Time will tell! Watch over Sarah, she misses her big brother!
