David Meece, 71, of Asheville, passed away April 26, 2010 at his home.
He was born on January 27, 1939 in Henderson County to Roy and Lillian Marlowe Meece. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and three brothers, Eric, Boyce and Kermit Meece.
He is survived by three sisters, Eithel O’Kelly of Asheville, Jeannie Marriott of Fletcher and Nanci Garren and husband, Milo, of Mills River and two brothers, Arvel and wife, Edith, of Raleigh and J.P. and wife, Betty, of Arden.
Mr. Meece was a veteran and he served honorably in the U.S. Marines for eight years. He was a retired handmade furniture maker and had a business in antique restoration. Some of his work is displayed by Grove Park Inn. David was an avid golfer and an art string designer.
There will be a private memorial and graveside rites at Mt. Gilead cemetery.

He will be missed, and my Prayers go out to all the family at this time.
I am sorry for your loss. I know that Uncle David will be missed but has traveled on to a better home. I will keep you all in my prayers and will miss his smiling face. That is what I can remember most about him. Love you all Barbara Meece Eason.
