Dean Buff

Willard Dean Buff, 84, of Asheville, died on Friday, July 15, 2016, at the CarePartners Solace Center. A native of Cleveland Co., Dean was a son of the late Thear Ivo and Annie Inez Richards Buff. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy, Kenneth, and Franklin Buff. Mr. Buff was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Upon returning home, Mr. Buff graduated from Gardner-Webb College. He later owned Dean Buff Insurance Agency for many years. Mr. Buff is survived by his wife of 60 years, Geraldine Brock Buff; daughters, Ann Marie Prather and husband Paul, Donna Lynn Buff, and Cynthia Susan Buff; sons, Dale Thomas Buff and Dean Buff, Jr. and wife Lacreatia; brothers, Kyle Buff and Jack Buff and wife Judy; and grandchildren, Michael and Holly Buff, and Cliff, Claire and Collin Prather. The funeral service for Mr. Buff will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 18th at The Salvation Army of Asheville, 750 Haywood Rd., West Asheville, with Maj. Mark Satterlee officiating. Interment will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Salvation Army, Resource Development, P.O. Box 241808, Charlotte, NC 28224-1808.
