Debra Elizabeth (Bondy) Maddox

Debra Elizabeth (Bondy) Maddox, 69, of Arden, died Friday, September 1, 2023 at The Oaks at Sweeten Creek, Arden.

Born in Miami, Florida, she was the daughter of the late John Calvin (Harriet Knowles-Bondy) and Suzanne (Szechenyl) Kramers. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Jenny Pierce, a brother, Lee Bondy, and stepsister Sonja Kramers.

Debra was a member of St. Barnabas Catholic Church.

She enjoyed time with her grandkids, reading her bible and making wire wrapped jewelry. She will be greatly missed.

She is survived by a son, John Maddox and his wife Hope of Arden; daughter Michele Rene Rathbone and her husband Michael Rathbone of Canton; seven grandchildren: Cecilee Weiler, Brittany Johnson(Cody), Saleena Pierce (Brandon), Sarah Pierce (David), Amberly Emge, Keyave Emge, and Sam Rathbone; three great-grandchildren: Lara Pierce and Barrett and Jude Johnson; a brother, Butch Bondy; three sisters: Kathleen Lux, Patricia Kemm, and Johnette Burress and her husband Greg; stepbrother Dominic Cody Kramers and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Groce Funeral Home at Lake Julian is assisting the family.
