Deena Riggs, 59, of Asheville, died Monday, April 7, 2014, at Mission Hospital.
A native of Fargo, ND, she was the daughter of the late Dr. Roy Albert Riggs and Edith Riggins Riggs.
Ms. Riggs lived in Asheville most of her life. She was a graduate of Enka High School, and she attended the University of North Carolina at Asheville and the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
Ms. Riggs is survived by brothers Gregory Riggs and wife Kaye, and Mark Riggs and wife June Gaze-Riggs; and by nieces Caroline and Kristen Riggs.
No public services are scheduled at this time.

Deena Riggs was the most loved friend of my life, and I am grieved beyond words
that she is now gone from this world.
My deepest sympathy to the family of Deena. She was a classmate of mine at Enka High School and was one of the sweetest people I’ve ever known. We’ve often mentioned wishing we could reach her to come to one of our reunions and everyone always commented on what a sweet person she was. I will keep the family in my prayers.
