Delila Mae Shipley, 91, of Longview Rd., Asheville, died Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at Aston Park Health Care.
A native of Graham Co., she was a daughter of the late Alvis and Willie Pentecost Huffman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Clyde Shipley.
Mrs. Shipley was a member of Sand Hill Baptist Church, and the Senior Citizens Co-Op.
She is survived by daughters Brenda Harrin (Lee), Phyllis Payne (Stacy), Carolyn Buckner (Larry), and Sandra Shipley; son George E. Fore (Lori); 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and sisters Irene Harwood and Louise Schrekengast.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 7, in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ricky McCarson officiating. Interment will follow at Ashelawn Gardens.
Her family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Aunt Mae was my ALL time favorite Aunt Her and Uncle Cid. I am uncle Cid’s Brother [John Shipley] Middle Daughter I didn’t get to see them much after dad died but they were always my favorite and I loved them dearly Love Mary Jane
A very precious lady. Always blew me kisses every Sunday at church. Heaven gained a special angel.
