Delmer Levoy Howard Sr., 79, of Fairview, died Sunday, November 30, 2014, at Mission Hospital.
A native of Buncombe Co., he was a son of the late Rev. Pete A. Howard and Matha Honeycutt Howard.
Mr. Howard is survived by his wife, Ruby Garrison
Howard; a daughter, Sherian Howard of Asheville; a son, Delmer Howard, Jr., of Waynesville; three grandchildren; sisters, Duvvy Raynor of Hickory, and Audrey Glover Czaykowski of Boseman, MT; and a brother, Jerry Howard of Fairview.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the Patton Ave. chapel of Groce Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dale Whitson and the Rev. Daniel Allen officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Ruby, You will continue to be in our prayers. We will miss Delmer so much especially at Christmas when he told so many fantastic stories. You and Delmer have been such good friends and neighbors since we came here. He will be missed. We love you!
