Dennis R. Sluder, Jr.

Services for D.R. Sluder, Jr., 66, of 36 Panorama Drive, Asheville, will be 11 am Tuesday in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Dr. Ronnie Owen.  Burial will follow in the Mountain View Baptist Church Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Frank Cook, Joe Lyda, Larry Hensley, William Donehower, David Hyder and Lance Wolgan.  Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Buncombe County Veterans Council Memorial Team.

D.R. was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a retired employee of Square D.

D.R. is survived by his daughter, Sheila Sluder Fletcher and her husband Chris of Leicester; son, Dennis Brian Sluder, and his wife Christine of Phoenix, AZ; sisters, Marie S. Stanfield, Betty S. Waters and Phyllis S. Black; brothers, Denver, Gay and James Sluder and grandchildren, Rebecca Bailey Fletcher, Nicole Elizabeth Sluder, Carolyn Ann Sluder, Lance Eric Wolgan and Jayne Elizabeth Wolgan.

The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 8:30 pm Monday at Groce Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society or to Mountain Area Hospice.
