Dessie Mae Gillespie

Dessie Mae Gillespie, 93, of Leicester, died Thursday, June 5, 2014, at the John F. Keever Hospice Solace Center. A native of Buncombe Co., she was a daughter of the late Nelson David and Rhoda King Ledbetter. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Nathan B. Gillespie. Mrs. Gillespie is survived by her son, Bruce R. Gillespie and wife Donna; grandson, Jason R. Gillespie; and sisters Doris Justice, Doxie Giles, and Delia Clark. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at Beulah Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ricky Wolfe officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Gillespie, Conley Gillespie, David Warren, Gerald Rogers, Travis Revis, Gerald Wines, and Carroll Ledbetter. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m Saturday at Groce Funeral Home, Patton Ave.
