Diana Rose Montgomery, 47, of 380 Brevard Road, Asheville, died Friday, June 7, 2002, at Aston
Park Nursing Center.
Mrs. Montgomery was born in Bristol, TN, and was a 1973 graduate of Reynolds High School. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was married to Donald A. Montgomery who died in 1998. She was a former sales person at
Jackson’s Trading Post and was a daughter of Daniel and Launa Shaffer Autrey of Candler.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a daughter, Dawn Angel Montgomery of Raleigh and
one brother, Jan Autrey of Boston, MA.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Monday in the Patton Avenue chapel of Groce Funeral Home with the Rev. Buddy Corbin officiating. Burial will be at the Western Carolina State Veterans
Cemetery.

Dear family, You have my deepest sympathy and that of my family members who were acquainted with Diana. I’m a nurse at Aston Park but I met Diana when she worked at Jackson’s many years ago. We would shop there to get my nephews’ bluejeans and Diana always waited on us. She always greeted us with a smile and a hug. It was such a shock to us when she became a resident at Aston Park and a bigger shock when we learned of her passing. She is in a better place than all of us and she is one of God’s angels now. To Diana’s parents: I’m the nurse at the front desk that always waved at you when you come in to visit Diana. We all will miss Diana greatly at Aston Park HCC. Sincerely, Debbie Parham
