Don Felmet of Asheville, age 78, passed away on Tuesday September 2, 2014 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center. A native of Asheville, Don was the son of Frank Grayson Felmet, Sr., and Margaret Catherine Lucas Felmet. Don was preceded in death by his sister Mary Ardia Felmet Pike, on June 20, 2007 and his brother Frank Grayson "Pete" Felmet, Jr. on June 21, 2014. Don graduated from Lee H. Edwards High School class of 1954, at which time he joined the U.S. Air Force, and served as an Air Traffic Controller ("Radar Man"). He attended for one year Asheville Biltmore College, and was employed with Carolina Power and Light Company for 35 years having retired as the Senior Area Engineer Representative in 1993 at the CP&L's Skyland office. Don was a faithful member and Deacon of Grace Baptist Church. He was also a member of the CP&L Pioneer's. He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity, and also the ABCCM. Survivors include his soul mate Barbara Smith Felmet whom he married October 19, 1957; his daughter whom he loved with all his heart Lisa Michelle Felmet; his sister Susie Heinnemann of Kokomo, IN; brother-in-law Jack E. Pike of Candler, NC and sister-in-law Edna Felmet of Albany, GA; one niece, Suzette Felmet Todd of Albany, GA; and three nephews, Steve Felmet of Albany, GA., Barry York of Pittsburgh, PA., and Brent York of Greensboro, NC. Don's faithful "fuzzy buddies", Maze', and Lilly. Very special, long life friend Buster Watts. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Grace Baptist Church with the Rev. Nathan Pruett officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the service at 3:00 p.m. At Don's request, he will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be to: Haywood St. Respite (Central UM Church) Haywood St. Campus, ATTN: Rev. Brian Combs, P.O. Box 2982, Asheville, NC 28802; or to John F.
