Donald Andrew Nowak

Donald Andrew Nowak, 65, of Asheville, died on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at his home following a year-long fight with cancer. A native of Chicago, IL, Mr. Nowak was a son of the late Andrew and Edna Rauchowski Nowak. Mr. Nowak had retired from Precision Products, where he worked as a machinist. He loved to not only build race cars, but race them himself, and was also a big fan of the Beach Boys. Mr. Nowak is survived by his wife, Rene Hendershot Nowak; son, Randy Nowak; daughter-in-law, Amy Wyatt Nowak; daughter, Dawn Ingraham and husband Danny; and four grandchildren. A celebration of Mr. Nowak's life will be held on Tuesday, November 19, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. Mr. Nowak's family wishes to thank Cancer Care of WNC and CarePartners Hospice both for their care and support of Mr. Nowak.
