Donald Aubrey Montgomery, 53, of 30 Indian Lane, Weaverville, died Saturday,
October 24, 1998, at his home.
Mr. Montgomery was born in Buncombe County and was preceded in death by his
father, William Montgomery, a sister, Carol Doutt, and a brother, Jimmy Miller. He was
an Army veteran of Vietnam and was employed by the Asheville VA Medical Center.
He is survived by his mother, Bernice Miller Parker of Asheville; his wife, Diana
Autrey Montgomery of Asheville; a daughter, Dawn Montgomery of Asheville; two
sons, Eric and James Montgomery of Vietnam; his dear friend, Mona Chatelain of
Weaverville; and four brothers, Harold, Larry, Gary, and Richard Parker, all of Asheville.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday at the WNC State Veterans Cemetery
with Chaplain Melba Banks officiating. Military rites will be provided by the Buncombe
County Veterans Council Memorial Team.
His family will receive friends from 7 - 8:30 pm Tuesday at Groce Funeral Home.
