Donald Bruce “Slim” Redmon, 54, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025.

A Buncombe County native, Donald was the son of Troy Bruce and Carolyn Rash Redmon.

Mr. Redmon worked with the North Carolina Department of Transportation for many years. He also served as a volunteer with the French Broad Fire Department.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Marilyn Lance Redmon; step-daughter, Jessica Miller (Mark); beloved grandchildren, Noah “Monkey” and Zoey “Punkin” Miller; aunt, Shirley Shelton; and mother-in-law, Lucy Lance.

Donald’s family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Groce Funeral Home on Patton Ave. The funeral service will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Revs. Eddie Rice, Donald Whitson and Brian Hanrahan will officiate. Burial will then follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

    We only saw Donald a few times but, he had a kind personality. After meeting his parents it’s very evident where his sweet spirit came from. May God give you peace and comfort in the days ahead.
